‘Don’t confuse consumers as new tax system only begins April 1’

PUTRAJAYA: Traders who have the ‘GST’ (Goods and Services Tax) acronym printed on their receipts have been instructed to drop the letter ‘G’ to avoid confusing customers who may think that the new tax system has begun.

Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan said traders should just use ‘ST’ for Services Tax or ‘SST’ for Sales and Services Tax to collect the 6% tax.
