Teenager charged with senior citizen’s murder


KOTA TINGGI: A teenager was charged with the murder of a senior citizen at a magistrate's court here on Sunday.

The accused, a 15-year-old boy, was brought to court for the alleged murder of 62-year-old Jariah Abu Bakar at Block 9, Felda Lok Heng Barat, Kota Tinggi at about 12.05pm on July 22.

The accused nodded to the charge which was read out before court assistant registrar Hairul Azhar Muhamad. No plea was recorded.

The court set Sept 8 for mention pending the post-mortem report.

It is learnt that the boy, along with four others, were allegedly involved in the incident following a robbery gone wrong.
