KUALA LUMPUR: Angry at a seven-year-old boy left under her care, an Indonesian maid attempted to burn the house down, with him in it.
The 37-year-old maid is also alleged to have hit the boy on the head with a blunt object earlier in the house at Desa Park City, Kepong, yesterday morning.
Police said she then set the double-storey house ablaze before making her escape.
The half-conscious boy managed to call for help, and neighbours, alerted the security guards who managed to rescue him.
Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy said firemen managed to put out the fire in 20 minutes.
ACP Munusamy said police were looking for Nurmi Muhamad, whose passport number is AR846893 to assist in investigations.
