Fake website copying Star Online


PETALING JAYA: Star Publications (M) Bhd has identified a website that is illegally using The Star Online’s logo and mimics the look and feel of the leading news portal.

The company categorically denies any links to the website currently hosted on thestar.com-x.biz/special-report.

“We are taking all necessary legal actions to ensure the issue is addressed as soon as possible,” said Star Publications head of products (digital) Serm Teck Choon.

“This includes, but not limited to, filing reports with the police, the Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.”
