A COUPLE in Ipoh hold a record of sorts – they have 21 children – all in a space of 25 years!
Retired plate mill worker Lim Ya Er, 63, and Chu Shu Liam, 55, have 11 daughters and 10 sons. They also have 35 grandchildren, reported China Press.
The eldest child is 37 and the youngest is aged 12.
Lim said they had to sleep in separate rooms after their 21st child because Chu was “very fertile”. He, however, said their relationship remained close despite them sleeping separately.
Chu said she liked to eat fish and pray a lot at temples.
“That could be a reason why I’m blessed with so many children,” she said. All their children have steady jobs.
> Kwong Wah Yit Poh reported that local actress Angelica Lee’s father gave his son-in-law Oxide Pang an earful recently.
Pang, an acclaimed director, was recently caught cheating on Lee with Hong Kong model Liddy Li.
Lee’s father said he was hurt and had scolded Pang, adding that the latter then apologised to him and Lee.
“I told him that he is nearing 50 and has had two previous ‘wrongdoings” and we wouldn’t tolerate it a third time. We have forgiven him,” he said during an interview with a Hong Kong magazine published by the daily.
Lee’s father said Pang had treated them well throughout the years, adding that they would even visit him when he was filming abroad.
On talk that Lee had attempted suicide after learning about the affair, her father said she was just suffering from gastric pains.
