PORT DICKSON: A 20-year-old man, who attended a youth festival, drowned at Pantai Baru I here.
Muhammad Shazwan Abdullah went missing while swimming with a friend there at about 2.45pm on Saturday.
A search and rescue operation was mounted immediately but was called off at about 7pm when it grew dark.
Negri Sembilan Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said that Muhammad Shazwan’s body was recovered from the bottom of the sea at 11.15am, more than two hours after the search and rescue team members resumed their work yesterday.
Muhammad Shazwan, who was a member of the 4B Youth organisation in Kampung Kepis Hilir, Kuala Pilah, had come here with his friends to attend the 2014 Negeri Sembilan Youth Festival. — Bernama
