Cops release photos of 11 men linked to attack on media personnel


KUALA LUMPUR: Police have released the photographs of 11 men in connection with an attack on media photographers and videographers during the May 1 anti-GST rally.

City CID Chief Senior Asst Gan Kong Meng said investigations showed that a group of about 30 people dressed in black had entered a gathering point and began provoking the media personnel that evening.

The 11 men wanted by the police 

“They attacked two media personnel from Oriental Daily and The Malaysian Reserve,” he said when contacted on Thursday.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code on rioting, which carries two years jail or a fine or both upon conviction.

He urged those with information to contact the police hotline at 03-2115 9999 or investigating officer Asst Supt Ananthan Rajoo at 03-2697 7099.
