Businessman shocked, says car window ‘smashed’ at traffic light junction in Kota Kinabalu

KOTA KINABALU: A businessman in his 50s got the shock of his life when the left window of his car was “smashed” at a traffic light junction in the city.

Lim Vun Chan, who is also Pan Malaysia Koo Soo Restaurants and Chefs Association president, said he was heading home with his wife and daughter, and had stopped at the red light when someone smashed his car window at about 11.30pm on Wednesday.

"Luckily, my 20-year-old daughter who was seated on the right rear passenger seat was not hurt," he said, adding that they did not see who smashed the vehicle, as it happened too fast.

"It happened just seconds, and we were all shocked,” Lim said.

He lodged a police report at the Kota Kinabalu police station immediately after the incident.

Kota Kinabalu City Police Chief Assist Comm Jauteh Dikun when contacted, said initial investigations showed no criminal elements in the case, but would probe further.
