KOTA BARU: A trainee pilot suffered injuries after his light aircraft belonging to Asia Pacific Flight Training (APFT) flying academy crash landed in Taman Kurnia Jaya, here.

Kelantan Fire and Rescue chief Mohd Nurizwan Basri said the Piper Warrior II aircraft piloted by M. Shankar, 20, crashed landed at 12.30pm in an open area.

"Shankar, who suffered injury on the legs and head, was rushed to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital for treatment and reported to be in stable condition," he told reporters at the scene.

Mohd Nurizwan said firemen had to siphon out fuel from the aircraft as a safety precaution. The cause of the air crash was still under investigation. - Bernama
