Kedah DAP feuding over hosting of CNY do

ALOR SETAR: The controversy surrounding the status of Kedah DAP has boiled over to the hosting of the Chinese New Year celebrations by the party scheduled for next month.

Banners were put up since early this week for a Chinese New Year dinner said to be organised by the party on Feb 9, but Lee Guan Aik whom Registrar of Societies (ROS) has recognised as the rightful state chairman said the party is only holding an open house on Feb 4.

It was revealed that the dinner was organised by Kedah DAP interim committee chaired by Zairil Khir Johari, which was appointed by DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC).

Lee has lodged a police report against the organiser of the dinner, since he believed he is the legally elected state DAP chairman and is responsible for organising party's activities in the state.
