SHAH ALAM: The Malaysian Trade Union Congress (MTUC) has proposed for outgoing executive secretary Selangor State Development Corporation Norita Mohd Sidek to take up legal action over the decision to transfer her to the state secretariat building.
MTUC deputy president Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid, who is also Kuala Langat MP, said Norita was wrongfully sentenced to such a punishment, adding that it was wrong to remove one from his or her duty before conducting a thorough investigation.
"If she wants, Norita can take this matter to court as it was wrong in accordance with the law," he said after handing over a letter of support to a PKNS representative here on Wednesday.
He was accompanied by Selangor PKR secretary Amiruddin Shaari and former PKR Kapar MP S. Manikavasagam.
On Jan 20, it was reported that Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim confirmed that Datuk Othman Omar and Norita Abdul Sidek have been removed as general manager and executive secretary from Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS)
He said their removal was to allow investigation into the controversial sacking of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president Azmin Ali as PKNS board member.
