MALACCA: Malacca police arrested three Gang 04 members to facilitate the investigation into the murder of a Gang 08 member, who is also a former Emergency Ordinance detainee, during a gang fight on May 4.
Malacca CID chief ACP Raja Shahrom Raja Abdullah said the three men were among the eight members of Gang 04 wanted in connection with the case.
"Two of the men, aged 19, were detained after they surrendered themselves to the police at the Malacca police contingent headquarters at about 9.30 pm last Thursday.
"Another man, aged 18, was arrested at 9am yesterday, soon after he arrived at the Malacca Court Complex for a trial on a robbery case," he told reporters here Saturday.
He said the three men had been remanded for seven days to facilitate in the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
Raja Shahrom said the police were in the midst of tracking down five other men in connection with the case.
They are A Givanatan, 24, M P Namasivayam, 23, Aiman, 20s, P Sethupathi, 25, and P Narendranpathi, 26.
"The motive of the murder is still being investigated. Public with information are requested to contact the nearest police station to facilitate in the investigation," added. - Bernama
