Only RM5,000 to hire a gunman





> China Press reported that two armed men robbed a vegetable farm in Segamat, Johor, of 10kg of chillies.

The suspects even tasted the chillies to see how hot they were before fleeing in a car.

Two foreigners working at the farm thought that the men wanted to buy vegetables.

Fearing for their safety, they could only watch helplessly when the robbers took away the chillies which were kept in a plastic bin.




> Several major Chinese dailies reported that a celebrity spiritual adviser from Thailand, who is popular among Singaporeans, Taiwan­ese and Hong Kong people, had been hospitalised for lung and respiratory complications.

They reported that Master Kin Nam, popularly known as Bai Long Wang, was admitted to a hospital in Thailand on Thursday and his condition was reported to be stable.

One of his disciples, known only as Loo, said the 76-year-old master was ill as he could have met “too many” of his followers weekly.
