Coastline a hive of piracy

PETALING JAYA: Sabah’s vast coastline from the east coast town of Tawau to the northern Kudat peninsula is no stranger to pirate attacks.

The pirates, comprising foreigners, have been active in the seas off the state for decades and prefer hit-and-run tactics, often robbing lone or small groups of fishermen on the Sulu Sea.
