Paying dearly: Several illegal parking attendants shielding their faces from the media while being led out of the magistrate’s court in George Town, Penang.

ELEVEN illegal parking attendants, including a septuagenarian, were charged in a magistrate’s court in George Town, with soliciting money from motorists.

Lee Ah Teik, 72, and Adamson Rogers, 26, claimed trial to one count each of collecting parking fees illegally, an offence under Section 50 (3) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for unauthorised parking fee collection.
