THE city of Ipoh will soon have another notable landmark in the SSI Tower at the Ipoh SOHO area along Jalan Sultan Idris Shah.

The cylinder-shaped tower will be 10 floors high, another addition to the growing number of high-rises in the city centre.

MH Amanjaya Properties Sdn Bhd director Datuk Aminudin Hashim said along with the tower, the RM100mil Ipoh SOHO Phase Two project would also include 10 SOHO units, a 42-room hotel and eight office suites.

“There is a growing demand for SOHO and the tower will be a notable landmark as visitors make their way to the city centre via the Sultan Yusuf roundabout.

“The project will commence in September this year and is expected to be completed before the end of 2016,” he told journalists after a memorandum of understanding signing ceremony between Aminudin and State Secretary Inc chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan on Tuesday.

Abdul Puhat said spaces in the tower could be rented out to governmental agencies as their offices.

“The structure is not meant so much for profit, but something like a CSR for other governmental agencies,” he said.
