World Mission Society Church of God organised an environmental cleanup campaign recently.

Pastor Lee Jae Suk from The Church of God in Kuala Lumpur said the campaign was a good way to create awareness among residents on the importance of keeping their surroundings clean.

The campaign was held at Taman Bukit Desa, Jalan Desaria and Taman Desa recreation park.

Participants were put in four groups and worked hard for three hours. They collected rubbish and separated it for recycling. They also cleaned the drains. Two lorries of rubbish were filled.

Taman Desa Residents Association president William Chan thanked the church members for cleaning the area ahead of Chinese New Year.

“We all need to work together to keep our environment clean,’’ he said.
