Founded in Pusat Bandar Damansara, Kuala Lumpur by Prof Datuk Dr Haji Mohamad Haniffa in 2005, it has grown from a college offering only two programmes back then to over 30 currently.
The institution, which initially specialised in health sciences, has expanded its academic offerings in line with its vision of becoming a global centre of excellence in education.
Mahsa’s various faculties now include Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Allied Health Sciences, Nursing and Midwifery, Business and Accountancy as well as Engineering.
There are also centres for Foundation Studies in Engineering, Business and Science, Postgraduate Studies and American Degree Studies.
Its various programmes – some of which are offered in collaboration with prestigious universities from the United Kingdom – also provide professional linkages with various international bodies for students upon graduation.
Mahsa, which achieved ‘University’ status in under 10 years, has its main campus in Jalan Universiti, Kuala Lumpur.
It comes under the umbrella of the Mahsa Education Group, which also includes the original Mahsa College, Mahsa College Sabah, Mahsa Prima International College and Mahsa Community Clinics.
Among the many accolades gained so far are the Global Excellence Management Award (2013), BrandLaureate Award for Education Excellence (2012), Science, Technology & Innovation Award (2012) and Napei Silver Jubilee Award (2012).
Further back, it received an Education Excellence Award for University College (2010), Education Excellence Award for Large Size College (2008), Doctorjob’s Award for Most Popular Private College/University for Nursing (2009), Education Excellence for Medium Size College (2006) and ISO 9001:2000 Certificate for Quality Management System.
It is currently awaiting the completion of a new and technologically superior campus in Bandar Saujana Putra later this year, which incorporates international standard academic facilities and student housing as well as a sports stadium, hotel and hospital.
