THE Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) has approved a funfair at the Batu Caves temple grounds during Thaipusam.
MPS Licensing Department director Affendei Samingan said the operator, Green City Amusement Fair Enterprise, has been given the green light to run the carnival for six days, starting on Feb 1.
The council licensing committee approved the permit last week.
However, there are four conditions tied to the approval.
The funfair operator has to seek police, Fire and Rescue Department, and Occupational Safety and Health Department approval before starting their business.
Last year, the funfair was cancelled as the Thaipusam Task Force received some 50,000 signatures from the public protesting against it.
