It’s time to say goodbye to My Little Pony hues, and hello to foxy silver locks.

Vintage never goes out of style, and it seems the latest way for a woman to make a fashion statement is with silver grey hair.

Social media users all over the world have been showing off pictures of their steely locks via the hashtag #grannyhair, in a trend kickstarted by starlets such as Kelly Osbourne, known for her purple rinse, and Rihanna.

A few generations up, stars like Judi Dench and Jamie Lee Curtis have long been proving that it isn't just men who can play at being silver foxes.

The movement has come out in force on Twitter and on Instagram, with young and old alike going for grey.

Although the trend has obvious advantages for those with naturally grey locks, it is possible to dye your hair to achieve the look.
