One of the oldest Hindu temples in Penang which was founded in 1886, will be holding its consecration ceremony this July, 83 years after the first consecration ceremony was held in 1926.
Chairman of the Arulmigu Sri Ruthra Veeramuthu Maha Mariamman Temple in Jalan Air Itam N. Letchumanansamy said a Hindu temple would usually see a consecration ceremony also known as Maha Kumbha Abishegam being held once every 12 years following structural renovations.
