Luoyang’s Longmen grottoes are among China’s richest repositories of Buddhist sculpture, writes ZIYING. 

STRANGE to say, the first thing that came to mind when I thought of Luoyang was not its historical relics but its flowers. Luoyang is famous for its peonies, and as we travelled west from Zhengzhou, I looked forward to visiting the mudanhua (peony) gardens of this ancient capital.
