PETALING JAYA: The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MyDigital ID to integrate the national digital identification system to its myPTPTN mobile app.
The myPTPTN platform enables users to apply for education loans, check loan statements and balances, make repayments, and invest in the National Education Savings Scheme (SSPN), among other functions.
Moving forward, new PTPTN applicants will need to register with MyDigital ID before they are able to create a myPTPTN account. This can be done via the MyDigital ID app or at physical kiosks.
In a report from Bernama yesterday (Oct 22), PTPTN chairman Datuk Seri Norliza Abdul Rahim said that this integration would allow for greater efficient and improved user experience in accessing online services.
"This transformation brings great benefits to the public by enabling them to conduct transactions conveniently, quickly, and securely from their homes, campuses, or anywhere else," she was quoted.
For more information, users may visit the MyDigital ID and PTPTN websites.
It is worth noting that existing myPTPTN users can still login with their user ID and password. However, PTPTN recommends using MyDigital ID as a more secure alternative on its website.
Earlier this month, MyDigital ID was set as the sole login method for the MyBayar PDRM app, with the government planning to utilise the national identification system for prepaid SIM card registrations by the end of this year according to Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
