In just a few years, Twitch has become a veritable goldmine for video game enthusiasts. Thanks to an attractive monetisation system, content creators can rake in millions of dollars. So who are the platform's best-paid streamers?

Well-known on social networks, content creator Kai Cenat leads the way as Twitch's top-paid streamer. According to data gathered by SportingPedia, which drew on information from Twitch, TwitchTracker and Twitch Stats, the 23-year-old influencer generated the most revenue on the video game streaming platform, racking up between US$4.43mil and US$6.2mil (RM19.62mil and RM27.46mil) last year, after the share taken by Twitch. Real name Kailen Carlo Cenat III, the young American has over 16.8 million followers on his Twitch channel.

One of the reasons for Kai Cenat's success is undoubtedly his concept. In the style of American talk shows, the influencer hosts live interviews with celebrities, all with a humorous tone. This is Kai Cenat's trademark. He won the "Just Chatting” award for best stream, as well as the "Best Streamed Collab” award, thanks to the presence of Kevin Hart and Druski.

While Twitch was mainly used to livestream video games, programs in the "Just Chatting” category are gradually seeing their popularity grow.

With 7.1 million followers, Jynxzi takes second place in this ranking. The gamer, who made his breakthrough on the platform after playing Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege live, reportedly earned between US$3.6mil and US$5mil (RM15.94mil and RM22.14mil) in 2024. Also aged 23, the US-born influencer was crowned "Best FPS Streamer” at the Streamer Awards in 2024.

In third place, content creator caseoh, with 6.8 million followers, rides high with revenues of between US$2mil and US$2.85mil (RM8.85mil and RM12.62mil), according to data collected by SportingMedia. His success lies in a mix of video game streams and chat.

The streaming and video-on-demand platform enables creators to earn money through "Bits”, gifts equivalent to US$0.01, and subscriptions, ranging from US$4.99 to US$24.99 (RM22 and RM110) per month. The American giant returns 30% to 50% of monthly revenues to streamers. – AFP Relaxnews
