Opinion: I sold my Tesla for my moral health

I started following Tesla after visiting one of their early showrooms in downtown Washington, DC. At that time, the only thing the showroom had to show was the drive train, the electric motors, and a video of the Model S that was coming out later that year. I was beginning to see the sleek, quiet, electric luxury car on local roads, but it was just a sprinkling, not yet a flow.

A few years later I got my first ride in a Model S while visiting Los Angeles. One of my very successful physician friends purchased a Model S. I did not go out to LA simply to ride in his Tesla, but it was the most anticipated part of my trip. After the thrill of instant acceleration, I decided immediately that this was a car, a technology, and a company I wanted to support with my next car purchase.
