Grandtech Cloud Services (GCS) has announced the appointment of Justin Tiew Senn as its new vice president for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Tiew previously served as the regional general manager of Beam Mobility, with cross-industry experience from his tenure at Grab and Petronas.

In a press release from the Taiwan-based cloud services provider, Tiew says that he envisions strong potential for growth in the space and plans to delve deeper into the APAC startup ecosystem.

"In the seven years prior, GCS has shown strong potential for growth, and its 'friend to startups' business model has proven successful in numerous markets.

"The overall IaaS (Infrastructure as a service) demand in Asia is projected to grow at a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 20% to US$130bil (RM616bil) annually, and GCS is well-equipped to capitalise on this growth.

"I aim to position GCS as the go-to cloud service provider for startups in the APAC region. To reach this goal, I plan to expand our professional team and delve deeper into the startup ecosystems in the APAC region to demonstrate the long-term value that GCS can provide," he says.

Founder and chairman of GCS, Frankie Hsu, says "Justin is an accomplished senior executive with an impressive track record of driving business growth.

"We're excited to have such an exceptional talent join GCS to inject fresh energy into the company's development.

"Justin's role in GCS's development is invaluable. His expertise in fostering startup growth and penetrating new markets will greatly enhance our performance in the APAC region."

GCS is a cloud services consultancy primarily operating in the startup space, offering solutions such as cloud security and software as a service.
