It's time for YouTube to review the year gone by. The streaming platform has taken a look at the videos and creators that made the biggest impact in 2022 in the US. Check out the Top 10 most popular videos, shorts and creators.

It seems that American YouTube users have a soft spot for emotional content. According to YouTube's report "2022 A Year On YouTube," unveiled this Thursday, December 1, the most popular video on the platform in the United States was none other than Technoblade's heartbreaking farewell video. The YouTuber first came to fame for sharing his "Minecraft" adventures on his YouTube. Stricken with cancer, the streamer passed away in June 2022 at the age of 23, just one year after his diagnosis. In the video titled "So long nerds," published on July 1, the father of the streamer, whose real name was Alex, announced the death of his son and read the last words he wanted to address to his subscribers. The video has accumulated over 87 million views. On the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the creation of his channel, YouTube created an "easter egg": by searching for "Technoblade" in the search bar, users can then read the suggestion "did you mean Technoblade never dies."
