It's easy to shoot short videos on a smartphone, but if you want to get into it more seriously and capture razor-sharp images, natural colours, and spectacular settings you'll soon find that you need better equipment.
The smartphone is usually not sufficient, for several reasons. For instance, "with videos you have to deal with a longer period in which you have to keep the device still," says video hardware specialist Andre Kramer. That's difficult with a smartphone unless you have a tripod or a gimbal.
