Apple's Airpods Pro and Airpods Max offer spatial audio to give users an immersive surround sound experience. The feature works for TV shows and movies that support 3D audio.

It also provides dynamic head tracking, which means that you still hear the sound in the right place if you turn your head or move your iPhone.

To turn the feature on, go to Settings > Bluetooth on your iPhone or iPad. In the list of devices, tap the "i" button next to your AirPods.

In the same place you can also tap "See & Hear How It Works" while wearing the AirPods to get a taste of spatial audio in action.

To see whether the show or movie you're watching supports 3D audio, open Control Centre on your iPhone or iPad, then press and hold the volume control.

Currently, the feature is only available on AirPods Pro and Airpods Max that are coupled with iPhone 7 and higher.

If you're using an iPad it needs to be at least an iPad Pro, a 3rd generation iPad Air or a 6th generation iPad. You also need to be running iOS 14.3 or later. – dpa
