Digi has announced a new postpaid bundle exclusively for Covid-19 frontliners, civil servants, bank employees, and those in logistics and delivery services.

According to a press statement, the Digi Postpaid Smart Bundle offers eligible customers lower prices on selected 4G smartphones with a 12-month contract on the Digi Postpaid 58 plan, priced at RM58 per month with 15GB Internet data.

Eligible customers will also receive free additional 15GB data in the form of 500MB daily, along with a 20GB loyalty bonus which is 5GB for every six months they stay on the plan (capped at four times, up to two years tenure) and unlimited calls to all networks.

Under the Smart Bundle, customers can purchase 4G smartphones such as the Oppo A12 (32GB) for RM68, instead of its usual retail price of RM529.

Digi states that eligible customers will also enjoy a waiver of the device advance payment and an additional RM120 in rebates on their Postpaid plan monthly fees.

The company’s chief marketing officer Praveen Rajan hopes the plan will help to ease the burden of frontliners in Malaysia.

“We understand that affordability and connectivity are key priorities now, especially when the government has been encouraging companies to allow their employees to work from home as we continue to battle this pandemic,” he said.

The plan is available from now till Nov 30 and eligible customers can sign up at Digi Stores or Digi Store Express nationwide. They will be required to provide valid employee ID and other relevant personal identification documents during sign-up.

An FAQ states that while customers will be tied to a 12-month contract if they sign up for the plan with a device, they can also sign up for just the Digi Postpaid 58 plan – which will be contract-free – and still be entitled to the RM120 rebate under the Smart Bundle.
