Twitter was hit by a major hacking spree on July 15, where verified accounts belonging to the likes of Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and Kim Kardashian were used by hackers to post scam messages.
Reuters reported that scammers may have received more than US$100,000 (RM427,050) worth of cryptocurrency from the hacking spree based on publicly available blockchain records. It added that a security expert believed about 300 people were scammed in the incident.
