Perfect Corp is bringing New York Fashion Week to beauty fans all over the world with its latest collaboration.

The developer behind the virtual beauty app YouCam Makeup and photo editing app YouCam Perfect has joined on-demand beauty service provider Priv to launch an interactive beauty experience highlighting Priv's Runway Trends collection.

Using artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) technologies, the YouCam Makeup app is offering users the chance to virtually try out three of the top beauty trends from the New York Fashion Week catwalks – including glittering shadows, neon liner, and blue accents. The trends have been incorporated into virtual makeup looks that beauty buffs can try on in real time. The Runway Trends collection beauty experience also guides users through recreating the looks in real life.

"The 2020 beauty landscape is all about hyper personalisation, self-expression and tech-enabled beauty experiences," said James Bradicich, Vice President of Marketing & Business Development at Priv, in a statement. "We're thrilled to partner with Perfect Corp to create an augmented reality experience that empowers fashion lovers to draw inspiration from the hottest Fashion Week trends and book their favourite beauty looks straight to their front door."

"The idea of creating a cohesive, full-circle experience which invites play and experimentation and couples it with real life recreation, is one we hope that inspires beauty lovers to express themselves and empower their beauty journey," added Alice Chang, Perfect Corp founder and CEO.

This isn't the first time YouCam has brought catwalk beauty looks to its users – last year, the app partnered with makeup artists Tom Sapin and Olivier Tissot to bring a series of Haute Couture Week makeup looks to its users via an AR experience. – AFP Relaxnews
