Two action games with a heavy emphasis on randomly generated levels: the playful single-player Rad and harsh multiplayer Remnant: From The Ashes"; Japanese action game Oninaki and remastered open world crime adventure Yakuza 3; NSA thriller Telling Lies and contemplative Stones Of Solace.

Remnant: From The Ashes

PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC from Aug 20

Wade through randomly assembled levels defeating manifestations of an otherwordly evil, preferable as one of up to three well-armed survivors, with on-point combat, striking design, the novelty of randomly generated levels, and the thrill of hard-fought cooperative accomplishments in its favour. Initial reviews identify sharp increases in difficulty, especially played solo, and a paucity of effective new equipment as areas to improve upon.
