Perfect Corp is making its signature YouCam beauty app available to small and medium businesses.

The developer has unveiled YouCam For Web, a self-service subscription designed for small and medium businesses looking to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) beauty technology. The move will allow online shoppers to browse and try on a brand's product virtually, using YouCam Makeup's advanced facial recognition engine.

"The implementation of virtual try-ons has completely reimagined the way consumers shop for cosmetics and we are so excited to create a self-service platform that will expand YouCam beauty tech solutions to even more brands," said Perfect Corp CEO and founder, Alice Chang, in a statement. "SaaS is the way of the future and YouCam For Web helps to cater to the growing needs of beauty tech solutions across all budgets."

YouCam has already been used by multiple major cosmetics brands, including L'Oréal, Lancôme and Maybelline New York. The new self-service subscription option will allow smaller brands to benefit from the technology by integrating AR virtual try-ons for their website.

The move is the latest in a string of milestones for YouCam, which recently teamed up with makeup artists Tom Sapin and Olivier Tissot to offer users access to beauty looks seen on the catwalks at Haute Couture Fashion Week. – AFP Relaxnews
