Nintendo is preparing to launch a second version of its mobile gaming console with the new Switch Lite. But while everyone was looking at the new mobile-only version, Nintendo also announced it was making one big change to the classic Switch model.
The Japanese manufacturer says the Switch will be sold to buyers with a much more powerful battery in the future.
This should extend the battery life from the current range of 2.5-6.5 hours to 4.5-9 hours, as Nintendo explains.
Buyers who want to make sure they get a redesigned Switch with a larger battery must make sure to click on the model number "MOD. HAC-001-01".
The previous model with the weaker battery, on the other hand, has the model number "MOD. HAC-001". Nintendo puts the battery life of the new Switch Lite at 3 to 7 hours. – dpa
