‘Songbird Symphony’ prepares for release with trailer, demo

Adorable avian adventure Songbird Symphony is marking its imminent release with a free demo across PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC, plus a story trailer that sets the scene for an earnest Birb in search of its true origins.

PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC adventure Songbird Symphony is homing in on a July 25 release and, as such, Singaporean developer Joysteak and international publisher PQube have prepared a new trailer and a demo to give a taste of what’s in store.

Birb isn’t like the other chicks, so the story goes, being a small, grey and white fluffball among a family of elegant peacocks.

On the advice of his father and a wise old owl, off he goes on a running, jumping, and flappy-floating adventure, one punctuated by melody as he learns to sing the right song – a tune that unlocks new paths as he hops gamely forward.

Singapore’s Joysteak has been working on Songbird Symphony since early 2017 and the expressive little project has since gained an appreciative following.

And, despite being the studio’s first flight, Birb has still decorated its nest with a clutch of awards from around the region, including Busan Indie Connect in Korea, the Taipei Game Show in Taiwan, and the SEA Game Awards in neighbouring Malaysia.

A PC demo is available now from joysteak.itch.io and the game’s Steam page, with Switch and PS4 tasters coming from the consoles’ respective online stores, the Switch’s North American eShop then catching up on July 15. – AFP Relaxnews
