Chess gets super cute with the pet commanders of League Of Legends mode Teamfight Tactics, there's a better, longer look at Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and an animated introduction to the new character, creatures, and map changes of Apex Legends Season 2, while Meteorfall – Krumit's Tale applies a cartoon aesthetic to its entire fantasy card game adventure, and 16-bit era homage SolSeraph shows promise ahead of a mid-July release.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Gameplay Extended Cut

Originally shown to press at the 2019 Electronic Entertainment Expo, this is perhaps a better indication of what's in store for Fallen Order players than the 15-minute public showing. It takes place prior to that excerpt and shows how hero Cal can clamber up giant enemy vehicles, destroy key emplacements, and generally dispatch troopers obstructing his mission. Nov 15 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC.

Apex Legends – Season 2 Launch Trailer

Free console and computer battle royale Apex Legends heralds the start of its second season on July 2 with this animated introduction, showing more of new character Wattson and the rest of the crowd, new flying, dragon-type creatures, a light machine gun drafted in from Titanfall 2, and a big change coming to the King's Canyon map, soundtracked by Jung Youth song Only One King. Teamfight Tactics

League Of Legends studio Riot Games joins the Auto Chess craze with this spin-off, in which cute pets (the players) control, improve, and expand small armies made out of League Of Legends characters that then fight each other automatically. Released June 25 as a mode within the Mac and PC game.

Krumit's Tale

A cross between a card game and a fantasy adventure, in which our wizardly hero ventures into a creature-filled dungeon in search of special items, gold, and new abilities. Building on the success of the very well received Meteorfall – Journey, and expected in Early Access from November on computers, then on mobile in 2020 or beyond.

A combination of side-scrolling action and fort construction and defense in this genre-blending retro homage from the studio behind Zeno Clash and boulder-rolling lark Rock Of Ages, while the involvement of storyteller Jonas Kyrazes (The Talos Principle) helps it stand out further. July 10 on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. – AFP Relaxnews
