Aside from unveiling new features, the website will work hand-in-hand with existing features like Google Maps and Google Search.

Google is already far more than a search engine. Now it is hoping to gobble up an even greater share of the disparate online travel market by consolidating all of its travel offerings into one site.

Google hopes its new desktop site, simply named Trips and found under google.com/travel, will become a one-stop integrated shop for every step of travel from booking flight tickets to planning itineraries to mapping routes to checking the weather to making hotel and restaurant reservations.
