According to a post on Spotify’s For the Record newsroom, the Game Of Thrones show creators are offering hints on how the finale will play out, though fans will have to decipher it from a Spotify playlist.

Showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss have curated a Spotify playlist called Game Of Thrones: The End Is Coming to accompany the final season and teased that it contained answers that only a person with a sharp mind and ear will catch.

“The answer to the ending is one hundred percent hidden in the playlist choices. No one will believe us, but it’s true,” they told Spotify in an email.

They added that making fans comb through a playlist for secrets isn’t their intention –  they just want to share their love for rock, metal and country.

The songs include classics like Rage Against The Machine’s Sleep Now In The Fire, Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song and Johnny Cash’s Girl From The North Country to modern tunes like St Vincent’s Cruel, Laura Marling’s Devil’s Spoke and The White Stripes' Seven Nation Army.

“We were looking for songs that made us feel the way the show made us feel. There’s variety in there – Rage is not Johnny Cash. But they both have a deep inherent power,” said Benioff and Weiss.

The first playlist the duo developed for the show was Game Of Thrones: Songs Of Ice And Fire, back in 2017.

That playlist and the latest one were created in collaboration with Spotify’s head of rock, Allison Hagendorf. The eighth and final season of Game Of Thrones premieres on April 15.
