Honor Malaysia is collaborating with local filmmakers to capture their lives off-camera with the latest Honor View 20.

With this collaboration, Honor aims to bridge local art and technology to tell compelling stories, capture vivid experiences, and push the limits of their visual expressions.

Launched in January this year, Honor View 20 signals a new era in smartphone technology.

As we enter the next wave of digital transformation, digital solutions are needed to inherently support innovation and creativity.

Equipped with a powerful 48-megapixel camera and 3D camera technology, the HONOR View 20 is set to redefine photography capabilities.

“Photography is now integrated in much of what we do, facilitating much of our daily interactions” said Zhao Zhiwei, head of Honor Malaysia.

“Through this collaboration, Honor is glad to be able to provide the tools and support that inspire creativity, tapping into the individualism of our artistic partners with the Honor View 20.”

Quek Shio Chuan and Ismail Kamarul have been making waves in the local filmmaking and video directing industry with multiple festive-themed TVCs that have gone viral, such as the heartwarming Malaysian festive Raya campaign with Petronas, and the entertaining Chinese New Year advertisement for Tenaga Nasional Berhad.

Last year, Quek made headlines when his feature film Guang bagged him the Best New Director award at the 13th Chinese Youth Generation Film Forum in China, even before the film hit cinemas.

This year, Quek once again gained recognition as it was announced that he is set to direct an upcoming Mandarin original series for Netflix, alongside another local director. This makes the Quek one of the first Malaysians to be collaborating with the American streaming giant.

“I draw inspiration from anything and everything. There is always more than one side to a story and it’s all about the small details,” said Quek.

“The Honor View 20’s powerful camera is able to keep up with my cinematographic vision, providing me the tools to take my passion and career to the next step.”

Ismail said: “The filmmaking life takes me everywhere. With the Honor View 20, I’m able to capture every detail with ultimate clarity in various environments and lighting conditions.

“Its camera capabilities go far beyond my expectations and I’m excited to be able to express my ideas as it will continue to challenge me to push my boundaries in filmmaking.”
