Malaysians will have to settle with Xiaomi

Xiaomi will not be bringing in the Redmi Note 7 Pro, the more powerful version of the Redmi Note 7, according to a Facebook post by Xiaomi Malaysia country manager Allen An.

According to Facebook's translation of his post, the smartphone will only be available in China and India due to products of these two countries being “independent from design, software to production”.

A company spokesperson has also confirmed that the Redmi Note 7 Pro will not be available here.

Externally, the Note 7 Pro looks the same as the standard Note 7, having a 6.3in display with a teardrop notch, a main 48-megapixel camera paired with 5-megapixel depth sensor, and 4,000mAh battery with fast charging.

However, it is powered with a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and Adreno GPU (graphics processing unit), and packs 6GB RAM.

The Redmi Note 7 is expected to be available here on March 27 in three versions: 128GB storage and 4GB RAM  for RM949, 64GB storage with 4GB RAM for RM799, and 32GB storage with 3GB RAM which will be available exclusively on Lazada for RM679.
