Plethora of problems: On top of poor connectivity, many small firms in the poorest countries were impeded by a lack of access to finance, low scores on international quality certification, as well as low use of e-mail.

A Bay Area high-tech camera firm has been accused of creating a hostile "bro culture" in a lawsuit by a former employee that contains a laundry list of allegations women point to as causes of gender disparity in Silicon Valley's tech industry.

Former Light marketing director Gretchen Vagharshakian claimed in the lawsuit that she was wrongfully terminated by the San Francisco company, in part because of her pregnancy and motherhood. The firm's created a hostile workplace that trivialised women, she alleged.
