Oscar Isaac is "throwing (his) hat in the ring" to play lead character Snake in an adaptation of the Metal Gear Solid video game spy thriller franchise.

Star Wars and X-Men actor Oscar Isaac is interested in playing the lead character from blockbuster video game series Metal Gear Solid.

Not only that, but a movie adaptation is already in the early stages of planning, and Isaac's involvement is a casting decision that director Jordan Vogt-Roberts has already considered.

Speaking ahead of the theatrical release of Triple Frontier, Oscar Isaac told IGN that he wanted to play super soldier Snake in a movie adaptation of Metal Gear Solid.

"Definitely," he volunteered. "Metal Gear Solid, that's the one I'm really... I'm throwing my hat in for that one."
