Skype's speech recognition software allows your conversation to be displayed as subtitles. — dpa
Reading a Skype video chat? Is may sound absurd, but it's now actually possible. If you click on the plus symbol at the bottom right of a conversation and then select "Turn subtitles on" immediately, what you're saying will be displayed down below as subtitles.
It's all made possible by Skype's speech recognition software. If you don't just want subtitles from time to time, but want them permanently activated, you have to click on your own profile picture and then press the button under "Settings/Calls/Call Subtitles".
According to Microsoft, the function "Live Captions & Subtitles" function is available from the latest Skype version 8 on Android and iOS devices, as well as Linux, Mac and Windows computers. – dpa
