It's not always nice to have to wait until the smell of your baby's poo fills the room before you realise they need a nappy change. This nappy monitoring system will send a message to your phone before your baby sends one to your nose.
Parents will know what it's like. Having a baby involves asking yourself – and your partner – "Do I smell poo? Do you smell poo? Did she poo? Am I just imagining it?"
Well, if you're sick of this song and dance, maybe it's time for this new innovation: a smart nappy monitor that can tell you when it's time for a nappy change.
South Korean company Monit has developed a sensor that can be attached to your baby's nappy and will send a notification to your phone whenever it needs to be changed.
The device also has a hub, which monitors the room's air quality and can serve as a night-light at bedtime. The hub will inform you if it detects changes in room temperature or humidity.
The monitor's app can be downloaded on up to five devices. The company says that one of the goals of having the monitor is to take some of the stress of parenting off, as parents have one less thing to worry about.
Monit is a South Korean start up that was founded in 2017. At the 2019 CES tech fair in Las Vegas, the company presented the baby monitor for foreign markets for the first time, as it has already been released in South Korea. – dpa
