The next game from the studio behind enormous hit Ark: Survival Evolved is a massively multiplayer seafaring adventure called ATLAS and, despite initial upset over apparent similarities, the new contender fared well during a busy year-end sale.

A user review score barracking over visual and back-end similarities to predecessor Ark: Survival Evolved combined with connectivity and player placement issues did not prevent new multiplayer sailing and mythical monster adventure ATLAS from landing in Steam's top five by the end of an annual, week-long sale.

ATLAS maintained its early adopter launch price for the duration of Steam's Winter Sale and, with a concurrent player peak of 59,000, finds itself in fourth position behind a resurgent PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, 2018 hit Monster Hunter: World and perennial GTA V in Steam's weekly revenue-based chart.

However, its player peak remains short of "Ark's" early access tally of 80,000 (per SteamDB), leaving some way to go for the intensive development project.

On GOG, a sale on select Japanese role-playing classics puts the Legend Of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel franchise on a rapid if temporary upward trajectory: Itch.io hosts the latest and perhaps greatest remake of survival horror icon P.T., renamed Unreal P.T. in reference to game development suite Unreal Engine 4, Itch.io remaining as receptive as ever to experimental horror experiences. – AFP Relaxnews
