Demi Lovato, who struggled publicly with addiction in 2018, then completed a two-month stint in rehab in October, was the number-two most-Googled living person worldwide after Meghan Markle – the only musician to make the top five of Google's Year in Search.

The late Swedish DJ Avicii, meanwhile, was the second most-searched term over the course of the year after the World Cup, followed by the late rapper Mac Miller, as web users presumably took to Google when news of their deaths and causes of deaths were revealed.
