Quora says 100 million users hit by security breach

Likely story: A private investigator tried to justify his attempts to hack into a charity by saying he was attempting to find out if they were inadvertently funding Islamic militants.

About 100 million users of Quora were affected by unauthorised access to one of its systems by a “malicious third party”, the knowledge-sharing website said on Dec 3.

Account information, including name, email address, encrypted password and data imported from linked networks when authorized by users may have been compromised, it said.
