Reading off your WiFi network's password from the bottom of your router can be a tedious chore. But if you and your guest both use an Apple device, it's easy to share the password. — dpa

Owners of a device running iOS 11 or higher can easily share their WiFi password with other iOS users. To do this, you'll have to enable WiFi, Bluetooth and the Handoff feature on both devices and place them in close proximity of each other.

Make sure that both devices have an active iCloud account. One of them must also be connected to the WiFi network.

A message should appear on the device that's already logged on, asking whether you want to share the password with the new device.

Tapping on "Share" will transmit the password to the new device. Using this method will mean you won't have to type or tell anyone your password anymore. – dpa
