Sony PlayStation unveils its videogame lounge with a little extra for early birds, who will be able to play Kingdom Hearts III this weekend, months ahead of its local release.
The role-playing game franchise by Square Enix and Disney is set to be released in Malaysia on Jan 29 next year, but a demo will be open to the public from Nov 23 to 25.
The Play Everything Lounge, done in a collaboration between Sony Interactive Entertainment Hong Kong Limited Singapore Branch (SIES) and Sunway Malls and Theme Parks, opens from tomorrow until Feb 17 next year in Sunway Pyramid.
SIES South-East Asia regional head Hidetoshi Takigawa says this is the first such popup lounge in the region, which is meant to let fans play the latest PlayStation 4 games plus take part in community activities and gaming tournaments.
He hinted that more game releases might also be held at the venue, as Malaysia is one of the stronger markets for PlayStation in the region.
The lounge offers 12 PlayStation 4 consoles and one Virtual Reality machine, which are free to play from 10am to 10pm.
During the launch SIES product management and marketing senior manager Arata Naito also confirmed the PlayStation Classic would be available in Malaysia starting Dec 3 for RM429.
PlayStation Classic is a miniaturised version of the company's first console, the PlayStation, which comes pre-loaded with 20 classic titles including Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, Grand Theft Auto, and Tekken 3.
The release date on Dec 3 is meant to coincide with the anniversary of the original PlayStation console's release in Japan on Dec 3, 1994.
Visitors to the Play Everything Lounge may also get to test the PlayStation Classic, which Sony says will be available there at a soon to be revealed date.
